19. Desert Mirage Oasis
Defying the hot, dry climate of the desert, the Desert Mirage Oasis builds a thriving giant mushroom farm in the middle of smooth sandstone dunes. Framed by palm trees built of jungle wood and leaves, bright turquoise water pools, and terracotta archways, this farm looks like a magical anomaly. Giant brown mushroom caps provide desperately needed shade for small crops of nether wart and melon patches planted around their roots.
Because mushrooms cannot naturally grow easily under bright desert light levels, this build incorporates a retractable sandstone canvas roof powered by extended piston arrays. At night, or when the harvesting button is pressed, the roof slides shut to lower the light level instantly, allowing bone meal dispensers to grow the giant mushrooms in complete darkness. Once grown, pistons break the caps, and the roof slides open again to reveal the lush oasis under the desert sun. It is a brilliant display of redstone engineering adapted for desert environments.
