13. Alien Crash Site and Area 51 Zone
Take your neighborhood on a journey out of this world by staging an extraterrestrial crash landing on your front lawn. Craft a metallic, retro-futuristic UFO saucer half-buried in a smoking crater on your lawn (using a fog machine hidden beneath the structure). Use bright green, neon blue, and silver tarping, along with hazard tape and metal barricades, to seal off the “impact zone.” Position silver-suited government scientists and hazmat workers (mannequins) taking readings with retro-looking gadgets, while glowing, green-eyed alien figures peek out from behind trees and bushes. Use strobe lights and futuristic hum sound effects to complete the sci-fi spectacle.
