How to Make It
- Mix Textured Paste: Mix acrylic modeling paste or joint compound into your acrylic paints (olive, ochre, slate grey, cream) until thick like cake frosting.
- Block Sky Layer: Paint a flat, smooth sky layer across the top third of the canvas using a wide flat brush.
- Apply Horizon Hills: Use a palette knife to spread thick, textured strokes of olive paste along the horizon line, forming 3D mountain ridges.
- Layer Foreground Hills: Use a hog-bristle filbert brush loaded with thick ochre paste to sweep rolling hills across the lower canvas, leaving heavy brush ridges intact.
- Dry & Seal: Allow the thick impasto paste to cure for 24–48 hours until hardened. Spray with a matte clear finish.
