11. The Abandoned Asylum Ward
Recreate the cold, clinical terror of a mid-century psychiatric institution. Line your walls with peeling, dirty white hospital tiles (created with printed vinyl backdrops) and set up rusted metal gurneys draped in stained, yellowed sheets. Position a vintage wheelchair, slightly askew and missing one wheel, in the center of the room. Decorate the space with vintage medical equipment: glass syringes, rusted lobotomy tools, and old-fashioned heart monitors displaying a flatline signal. Use harsh, flickering fluorescent tube lighting overhead to create a sterile, disorienting atmosphere, and play a faint, distant soundtrack of manic laughter and the buzzing of failing electrical grids.
