What This Idea Means
Inspired by late-medieval European street architecture, this multi-story townhouse features upper levels that jut outward over the street below. It maximizes vertical space while adding depth to narrow village lanes.
How to Make It
Lay a narrow $5 \times 7$ stone brick foundation. The ground floor serves as the shopfront, featuring open spruce fence gates or trapdoor windows. Extend the second floor outward by one block on the front and back using oak log supports. Extend the third floor outward by another block. Use stripped oak and plaster (white terracotta) for the upper walls, topping it off with a sharp spruce wood gable roof.
Tips and Variations
- Hang lanterns from the overhanging beams to illuminate the cobblestone pathway below.
- Add a hanging shop sign using a polished blackstone button, an iron chain, and a painted sign.
- Variation: Build two of these side-by-side with mirrored rooflines to create a realistic, crowded city alley effect.
