What This Idea Means
Designed for medieval villages positioned along rivers, lakes, or ocean shorelines. Built elevated above the water on thick wooden stilts, this house includes personal dock space and fish-curing racks.
How to Make It
Drive dark oak log stilts down into the waterbed, elevating a floor platform about 3 blocks above the surface. Build a small timber cabin on the platform using stripped spruce wood and oak framing. Construct a wrap-around exterior deck fitted with fences, hanging lanterns, drying racks (campfires with dried kelp on top), and docked boats.
Tips and Variations
- Place oak slabs at varying heights underwater around the stilts to make the framing look weathered and tide-worn.
- Attach string and cobwebs near the floor dock to mimic hung fishing nets.
- Variation: Build a small attached fish-smoking hut with continuous smoke rising through an open trapdoor roof.
